Steve Jackson Games has released GURPS Tactical Shooting, the supplement to bring realism shooting to the game table of GURPS 4th Edition.

GURPS Tactical Shooting also gives players new options such as 20 new perks and techniques of using their firearms and six styles of gunfighting.

Written by Hans-Christian Vortisch, the 87 page supplement also gives information on tactics to survive gunfights in ambushes and urban environments and debunk certain myths from real gunfights.

A New Edition of the Discworld RPG Under Development

Steve Jackson Games has announced that a new edition of the Discworld Roleplaying Game is in the works but it will be still quite a while before it will be seen in print.

GURPS Line Editor Sean Punch made the announcement on the Daily Illuminator that he is in the middle of reviewing a 'large' first draft of the game, which they are planning to reduce it to 400 pages for the final release.

The new edition would be updating the original Discworld Roleplaying Game and GURPS Discworld Also into GURPS 4th Edition, taking into account the novels that has since been written by Terry Pratchett since the last edition, including Going Postal, Thud! and Unseen Academicals.

In the announcement, Punch said:

"I cannot give out more details on dates right now. I must finish the review, and then Phil will want to make whatever changes he feels should be made before the playtest.

"Then there will be said playtest, followed by Phil making the rest of the changes I suggested, along with those recommended by his playtesters.

"And then there will be months of editing, followed by time for production, art, and printing. The release date is too far out for me to offer a prediction – I'm not actually a troll, so I'm not writing this with a unique view of the future. (Actually, the fact that I'm writing this should be proof enough that I'm no rock.).".

The original Discworld Roleplaying Game, named GURPS Discworld then, was written by Phil Masters and Discworld creator Terry Pratchett and was published in 1998, using the GURPS Lite ruleset.

GURPS Discworld Also was a supplement published in 2001 and a reprint of the original RPG, renamed Discworld Roleplaying Game, was released in 2002.
