[Preview] The One Ring: Adventures over the Edge of the Wild Fresh Off the Printers

Cubicle 7 has posted up a few photos of The One Ring: Adventures over the Edge of the Wild slipcase fresh from the printers.

You can inspect the other photos which shows the full content of the slipcase at the Cubicle 7 website.

Gareth-Michael Skarka of Adamant Entertainment, in a RPG.net thread, confirms that a shipment of 'a few hundred' of the game would be available at the Cubicle 7 booth in GenCon and the main bulk of orders of the game would be reaching distributors in August. Those who pick up the slipcase would be also sent the PDF copy of the game for free.

He also said pre-orders for the game would be up at the Cubicle 7 webstore soon.

News: LPJ Design Releasing One Product A Week from August 2011 to July 2012

LPJ Design has announced that they would be releasing a weekly product from their NeoExodus: A House Divided line for the Pathfinder RPG for a year, starting from August 2011 to July 2012.

The announcement, which was made on their blog, also said that the company is hoping that British game publisher Cubicle 7 would be their publisher in the upcoming year and this initiaive is part of LPJ Design's business goal to achieve that.

In the blog post, Louis Porter Jr writes;

We have hired several new writers, assigned a LOT of work to them and have our artists in order for work. 52 PDF release this year AND roughly 10 Print on Demand releases too.

But best of all we have made it a business wide goal for LPJ Design for the upcoming year to get picked up by Cubicle 7, to act as our print broker and distributor of our gaming material to retail locations. We talked to them in the past and Angus Abranson seemed interested. I guess we are going to have to prove why they should be working with us. Time to step up our game. Start saving your money NOW, and get ready for August.

This is the second time that LPJ Design has attempted such a fast moving release schedule. Their first attempt was its M&M Superlink line for Mutants and Masterminds which released a weekly product for two years.

Product: The Gift

Rite Publishing has released The Gift which is a Pathfinder compatible adventure for a group of 5th level characters.

Written by Jonathan McAnulty, based on the original concept by Michael K. Tumey, the adventure is set in Kaidan; a land of horror and mystery where the dead do not sleep and life is cheap.

The Gift is the first part of the Curse of the Golden Spear campaign arc that serves to be an introduction to Japanese folklore based setting of Kaidan. Dim Spirit, the second part of the campaign arc would be released in July 2011, followed shortly by Dark Path, the third and final adventure of the campaign arc, that will be released in August 2011.

Both the print and PDF of The Gift are distributed through Cubicle 7 and are available at the Paizo store.

Product: The Breaking of Forstor Nagar

The carved stronghold of Forstor Nagar has been taken by The Hungering Legion and the ambassador of Ithulandis, the City of Adventure is trapped.

The adventurers must cross through enemy lines, cut off by the Forstorheim glacier, and rescue the ambassador within the few hours before he is eaten by his captors.

The Breaking of Forstor Nagar, published by Rite Publishing, is an 8th level adventure module made compatible with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game system and is distributed by Cubicle 7 Entertainment.

It is written by Ben McFarland, edited by Mark Moreland and developed by Jonathan Roberts. Tyler Bartley (who did the cover) and James Hazelett provided the art for the 48 page full color interior softback.

The module would also come with 8 full color maps with the cartography done by Jonathan Roberts

The adventure is also converted to be played on virtual tabletops for FantasyGrounds, MapTool and TTopRPG.

Purchasers of the module would receive a PDF copy as well as the print copy.

The Breaking of Forstor Nagar can be pre-ordered here for $17.99 and is expected to be released in August 2011.

Product: Living Legends solving crime In Broad Daylight

Monkey House Games co-founder Jeff Dee has created Living Legends, a roleplaying game set in the superhero setting of Villains and Vigilantes, according to ICv2.

This is an updated version of the classical Living Legends, and will offer a point-buy system or an optional random generation method for character generation and faster paced mechanics.

The 160 page standalone core rulebook, designed and illustrated by Jeff Dee himself, also has over 80 powers for players to customize their superheroes.

The softcover book is expected to be retailed at $32.99.

Meanwhile, ICv2 also reports that Monkey House Games would also be releasing an adventure module that is compatible with Living Legends and Villains and Vigilantes in August.

In Broad Daylight, the players would have to solve the mysterious disappearance of a fashion model in front of a crowd.

The module would also contain the stats and background of 'The Indestructible' team which has been featured on the covers of the the classical V&V books.

In Broad Daylight, written by Monkey House Games co-founder Jack Herman and illustrated by Jeff Dee, would have 88 pages and is set with a suggested retail price of $19.99.

Both books are currently available as PDFs at the Monkey House Games page in RPGNow.

Villains & Vigilantes was created by Jack Herman and Jeff Dee in 1979 and is said to be the classical superhero roleplaying game after it went out of print. Monkey House Games have recently signed a distribution deal with Cubicle 7 Entertainment in March, giving the V&V a comeback to store shelves after 20 years.

The deal also included Cubicle 7 Entertainment carrying the Living Legends line in the V&V universe.

News: The One Ring: Adventures Over the Edge of the Wild releases on August 7

The One Ring: Adventures Over the Edge of the Wild Roleplaying Game will feature two books in a premium slipcase when it is released on August 7 this year.

According to a report by ICv2, the first book will be a 128 page Loremaster's Book for GMs and the second one will be a 192 page Adventurer's Book for players, both with full color interior art. A poster map and set of 7 dice will also be provided in the slipcase with art by artist John Howe.

The RPG is written by Francesco Nepitello, who also designed the War of the Ring strategy boardgame and is produced by a partnership between Cubicle 7 and Sophisticated Games.

The One Ring: Adventures Over the Edge of the Wild RPG will have a suggested retail price of $59.99.
