News: Pathfinder Bestiary 3 in November; Advanced Race Guide in April

Paizo has announced two new products in the pipeline that will be released in November 2011 and April 2012 respectively.

The first product is the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Bestiary 3 which will be a 320 page hardback with new foes and friends from international myths and the best of Paizo's Adventure Paths.

To be included in the Bestiary are grave knights, savage cyclopes, kappa, colossal kaiju, clockwork killers, mysterious sphinxes, imperial dragons, sleipnirs, cunning vanaras, whimsical faerie dragons, and many others.

There will also be new rules for customizing and advancing monsters with an extended glossary of monster abilities.

The Pathfinder RPG Bestiary 3 would be available at $39.99.

On the other hand, the Advanced Race Guide is a 256 page hardback with new options for the seven 'core' races in the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook and gives players the option to play as races found in the Bestiary books and The Inner Sea World Guide.

The book would also have a section for GMs to create their own races or customize existing races that will be part of Paizo's open playtest in late Fall of 2011.

The Advanced Race Guide will be sold for $39.99.

News: Pathfinder Beginner Box Heroes Miniature Set now available for preorder

Paizo has announced that the Pathfinder Beginner Box Heroes Miniature Set by WizKids is now available for pre-order.

The set contains four (non-randomized) pre-painted plastic miniatures, sculpted by WizKids, of the pregenerated characters that comes in the Beginner Box. However, this set comes separate from the Beginner Box and would not be included in Paizo's subscription.

The Pathfinder Beginner Box Heroes Miniature Set can be pre-ordered at $12.99 at the Paizo store and is expected to be released in October 2011 together with the release of the Beginner Box.

News: Paizo Announces Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Beginner Box

Paizo Lead Designer Jason Bulhman has finally made the official announcement that Paizo has been working on the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Beginner Box.

Similar in concept to the original Dungeons & Dragons Red Box 20 years ago, the Beginner Box is designed to introduce new gamers to the Pathfinder RPG and comes with a set of tools for GMs to take their players' characters up to 5th level.

Bulhman shares the content that can be found inside the box.
  • A 64-page Hero's Handbook, detailing character creation, spells, equipment, and general rules for playing the game
  • A 96-page Game Master's Guide packed with adventures, monsters, magical treasures, and advice on how to narrate the game and control the challenges faced by the heroes
  • A complete set of 7 high-impact polyhedral dice
  • More than 80 full-color pawns depicting tons of heroes, monsters, and even a fearsome black dragon
  • Four pregenerated character sheets to throw you right into the action
  • Four blank character sheets to record the statistics and deeds of your custom-made hero
  • A durable, reusable, double-sided Flip-Mat play surface that works with any kind of marker
Bulhman said that more details on the content of the box would be shared within the next few months and at the banquet dinner during PaizoCon.

The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Beginner Box can be pre-ordered at $34.99 at the Paizo store and is expected to ship in October 2011.

Product: The Breaking of Forstor Nagar

The carved stronghold of Forstor Nagar has been taken by The Hungering Legion and the ambassador of Ithulandis, the City of Adventure is trapped.

The adventurers must cross through enemy lines, cut off by the Forstorheim glacier, and rescue the ambassador within the few hours before he is eaten by his captors.

The Breaking of Forstor Nagar, published by Rite Publishing, is an 8th level adventure module made compatible with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game system and is distributed by Cubicle 7 Entertainment.

It is written by Ben McFarland, edited by Mark Moreland and developed by Jonathan Roberts. Tyler Bartley (who did the cover) and James Hazelett provided the art for the 48 page full color interior softback.

The module would also come with 8 full color maps with the cartography done by Jonathan Roberts

The adventure is also converted to be played on virtual tabletops for FantasyGrounds, MapTool and TTopRPG.

Purchasers of the module would receive a PDF copy as well as the print copy.

The Breaking of Forstor Nagar can be pre-ordered here for $17.99 and is expected to be released in August 2011.
