Dias Ex Machina has announced that Amethyst: Evolution would be released on July 9, the birthday of the setting's creator Chris Dias.
The announcement stated that the PDF would be released on that date, with the Print on Demand edition following shortly.
Amethyst: Evolution is the first supplement, following Amethyst: Foundations that will include new options for players whether they are playing in the Amethyst setting or in a homebrew setting where science and magic has collide.
The supplement would be introducing new playable races, lifepaths, a new techan class, alternate class powers and features, paragon paths, dozens of new feats and epic destinies for techan and echan characters. The supplement would also bring in nuclear weapons, larger power armour and aircraft and rules for wielding super heavy weapons.
In addition, the supplement would have a revision of the races in Amethyst: Foundations to take into account the recent developments of the Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition rules set.
The Amethyst setting was first created by Chris Dias under the Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 Edition rules and earned an Honorable Mention for Best Setting in GenCon 2008. Since then, the setting was updated to Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition under the Game System License (GSL) and Amethyst: Foundations was published by Goodman Games in April 2010.
